ISIS Security
Important Notice: A new process for submitting and approving ISIS security requests is coming soon! Read more about the upcoming changes.
Access in ISIS is granted to University of Arkansas employees with a job-related need for information in the ISIS database. ISIS security is granted by the individual offices with modules in ISIS:
- Student Records
- Student Accounts
- Financial Aid
- Undergraduate Admissions
- Graduate Admissions
Requesting ISIS Security for Full-Time Employees
To request ISIS access for full-time appointed employees download the ISIS Security Request form and instructions. Complete the form and fax it to 479.575.4651. Please make certain the form has signatures for departmental AND dean/director approval.
Requesting Security for Part-Time or Student Employees
Special ISIS accounts can be created for student or part-time employees upon request and review. These accounts require a supervisor to log in the part-time employee each time ISIS is accessed.
Download the Part-Time Employee Agreement form and instructions. Complete the steps stipulated in the instructions, then complete the Security Request form and fax to the number listed. Please confirm that the form has signatures for departmental AND dean/director approval.
Removing Security
ISIS security should be removed immediately when an employee leaves the University or transfers to a different department. The department that originally requested the security should notify the ISIS office by selecting the Remove box on a new ISIS Security Request or by e-mailing ISIS Security.
FERPA
All employees with ISIS access should be familiar with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). Information on FERPA as it applies to ISIS is available at this link.
ISIS Reporting
Creating or running queries on information located in the ISIS Reporting database requires proper security issued by the ISIS module office in which area the information resides. This security is requested through an ISIS Security Request and is based on a job-related need to know.
ISIS Reporting is accessed from the ISIS log in page. Once appropriate security has been assigned, a drop down menu with a selection for ISIS Reporting will be available just below the Password box. This separate database requires a separate password. A temporary password for ISIS Reporting is sent once security has been granted.
If a user in ISIS Reporting has access to create queries in Query Manager, they may also have the capability to modify existing queries belonging to others. It is very important that users do not modify a public query in ISIS Reporting they did not create.
The ISIS Training Team regularly offers hands-on classes on Basic Query Manager. All classes are listed on the training page.
